"What Are YOU Up To This Summer?"

After reading my last blog, Jola from Poland also wanted to let me know that, she, in fact, also just climbed a mountain (at 2000 meters - compared to that, Twin Peaks is merely a foothill!)

Polish mountains are pretty majestic! (she's the girl in the picture)

Which got me thinking - what are YOU up to this summer?!

I'm going to open this up to you guys - send me a picture of something cool you did/are doing this summer, and I'll post it on my next blog!

What: A picture that's somehow related to your summer which looks awesome. It's preferable that you are in it too but it's not necessary.

Please include:

where you took the picture.
affiliation with MIT (year, or year of application for potentials)
anything interesting you would like to say about yourself/where you live/what's in the picture/blahblah

Other than this - the only other thing is to try to make your picture sizes reasonable! (so it doesn't take forever for me to load them - I have slow internet here) and don't send me 5 pictures that are 3 MB each. kthx. :P

My email's up there on the banner. Will post once I get enough pictures! You'll have at least a week to send them in.

Prize: There is a physical prize for the picture I deem the best. The actual prize will be announced afterwards, but will also be awesome, just like the pictures. XP I reserve the right to cancel the prize if I get less than 10 entries. :)

GO!

Cool... So can we use more than one thing that we are doing for this summer?

Sleeping more in a day than I did in the entire month last October

Unfortunately, the most exciting thing I'm doing this summer is reading tons of manga... which I actually consider more fun to be able to stay home and do than going on nearly any vacation that isn't to Japan, or maybe Boston (motion sickness along with a personal feeling that "seeing just the scenery in person isn't much different from a photo" causes such a vacation apathy), though definitely not Boston for much longer (since it wouldn't be a vacation anymore), but alas, it can't be considered the least bit exciting, hahahah.

This sentence is here to shorten my average sentence length for the comment =.="

So, this is open to those of us currently at MIT??

Posted by: Kevin R '11 on July 7, 2009 12:18 AM

Hey Chris!

What I've been doing? MIT put me in a right fix when she rejected me back on Pi day earlier this year. I've just been getting back on track all this time! I will now be going to the Indian Institute of Technology - IIT. Now that that's been sorted out, I plan to head to UK for one emergency holiday! It's been my first post on this site since you gave us that story where you told us to find the alternative path. Well, thanks Chris. I have found it!

Maybe a tour to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco with an awesome tour guide from MIT would count?

@ Anonymous -

Sureee. But please don't flood my mailbox with too many pictures in one email. It makes my inbox sad :( But if you have multiple pics uploaded somewhere you can send me the links and I'll pick and choose.

@ My SATPrep co-director -

thank you for the support.

@ Kevin R. -

of course!

@ Varun -

Glad to hear it. :) Good luck!

@ Sean -

Lets eat sometime around Berkeley yeah?

(haha it'll be awhile though, definitely not this weekend - maybe the next?. you have a lot of time)

Posted by: Oasis '11 on July 7, 2009 06:14 PM

@ Oasis: Definitely. And you'll get chance to take more pictures of food. w00t! =D

Posted by: Sean on July 8, 2009 03:19 AM

@Chris: I sent you a link to a Picasa Web Album. That should be okay, right?
