"Apple Sculptures"

I'll admit it -- the "soft core porn" reference in the excerpt for this entry was pretty cheap... but it worked, you pervert.

Here are some of the sculpture entries for Burton Conner (my dorm)'s annunal Apple Bake competition.

Apple swans, skillfully crafted by my Graduate Resident Tutor (GRT) Chris.

An apple-and-peanut-butter elephant.

The Caltech Cannon!

Remember?

Soft core porn -- my floor is so clever.

I love it!

Yum.

Haha wow, that's hilarious. My brother did an apple bakeoff similar to that over at East Campus

Two sculpture details worth noting:

First, the Conception of the Law of Universal Gravitation had a piece of paper hanging over the apple that said F = Gmm/r^2.

Second, the Brass Rat on the Caltech Cannon did in fact have a decent amount of carving in it, including the outline of a beaver on the top and the dome on the side.

I note this because that was my primary contribution to the sculpture :).

A cheap trick, but kinda sad that you have to resort to it to get someone to read your entry!

Oh and anonymous, where's my F for humour.

Hi Mitra!
Is one of those trees with a board reading "Conception of the law of gravitation" a sibling of the tree where Sir Isaac Newton discovered the force of gravity?
